| Question Number 1: I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please provide the following information for your organisation for the period 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025 (inclusive): 1. A&E / Emergency Department 1. The total number of people who attended A&E (or ED) and were assessed as needing admission to an inpatient psychiatric bed (of any type) and had to wait in A&E for a psychiatric bed to become available. 2. The total cumulative number of hours those people collectively spent waiting in A&E from the decision to admit to a psychiatric bed until: - they were admitted to an inpatient psychiatric bed, or - a decision was made that admission was no longer required, or - they left the department (whichever endpoint you routinely use in your data). | |
| Answer To Question 1: 1. 0 2. 0 | |
| Question Number 2: 2. Non-psychiatric inpatient wards (e.g surgical or medical wards) 1. The total number of people who were on a non-psychiatric inpatient ward (e.g. medical/surgical wards) and were assessed as needing transfer/admission to an inpatient psychiatric bed, and had to wait on that ward for a psychiatric bed to become available. 2. | Answer To Question 2: We don't have the information regarding the collective hours waiting on Inpatient psychiatric beds. We hold the details of the number of sections that we received on behalf of the trust but that doesn't necessarily mean they are awaiting inpatient bed. | |
| Question Number 3: Breakdown (if readily available and does not exceed the cost limit) - Please provide the figures above broken down by month (Jan–Dec 2025). - If possible, please also indicate whether the data can be broken down by age group (e.g. adults, older adults, CAMHS), but only if this can be done within the usual FOI cost/time limits. If the above information is not held in the exact form requested, please provide the closest available data and briefly describe how it differs (e.g. different timeframes, inclusion criteria, or if waits are measured from referral rather than decision to admit). | |
| Answer To Question 3: 0 results therefore not applicable | |
