Meet the Team and Contact Details for Soft Tissue Sarcoma Patients

The team consists of:

  • Two ÔÂɫֱ²¥ Medical Oncologists- these are doctors who treat people with cancer, usually with Chemotherapy & Biological therapies.
  • Two ÔÂɫֱ²¥ Clinical Oncologists- these are doctors who treat people with cancer, usually with Radiotherapy.
  • One ÔÂɫֱ²¥ Plastic Surgeon - these are doctors who treat people with cancer, usually with surgery. At UHS the surgeons support our diagnostic service.
  • ÔÂɫֱ²¥ Radiologists- these are doctors who interpret X-rays and scans.
  • ÔÂɫֱ²¥ Pathologists- these are doctors who study cells and tissue under the microscope.
  • Three Clinical Nurse Specialists, these are nurses who provide patients with expert information and support and act as their key worker.
  • Two Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Nurse Specialists with expert knowledge and experience in looking after young people with cancer.

In addition to the above members of the team there are also Dieticians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, the Palliative Care Team and Macmillan Therapists.

The Southampton Sarcoma Service is the specialist centre for sarcoma across the Wessex region, including Hampshire, Dorset, the Isle of Wight, Channel Islands and parts of Wiltshire and West Sussex providing expert care for people who need radical treatment, curative surgery, or palliative support.

The specialist sarcoma clinical team help diagnose, treat and care for people who have sarcoma, rare types of cancer that can grow in bones or soft tissue like muscles, fat, and nerves.Ìý

This service is based at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) and is partnered with the London Sarcoma Service.
